The revitalisation of the Australian Manufacturing Industry depends on the introduction of new techniques of manufacture. Decisions concerning the implementation of new techniques of flexible manufacturing , including robotics, are discussed in regard to the effects on the work-force The discussion extends to an examination of the participative role of trade unions in the decisionmaking process associated with technological change.
